A landing page checklist catches the issues that kill conversions and rankings before a page goes live. Copy that buries the value proposition, a CTA that’s invisible on mobile, a missing canonical tag — these are the kinds of things that pass a visual review but fail in production.
This checklist covers the six areas that determine whether a landing page converts and ranks: messaging, CTA, SEO, performance, trust signals, and mobile rendering.
Who uses this landing page checklist
Marketers reviewing pages before campaign launch. SEO specialists doing a pre-publish landing page SEO checklist pass. Developers handing off a page to the marketing team. Agencies doing final QA before delivering a landing page to a client. Anyone running a paid campaign who needs the destination page to convert.
How to run it
Open the landing page in Chrome. Open CheckRun in the sidebar, select this template, and start a run. Work through each section — check the page on desktop, then resize to mobile. Mark Fail on anything that needs fixing before launch, add a comment with the specific issue.
The run saves with the page URL so you have a dated record of what passed and what was flagged.
Adapting this checklist
- Add an “Analytics” section if tracking setup is part of your launch process: GA4 tag firing, conversion event tracked, UTM parameters working
- Add “A/B test” items if you’re launching a variant: hypothesis documented, test tool configured, winner criteria defined
- Remove the SEO section for pages intentionally set to noindex (paid campaign pages you don’t want indexed)
- Use alongside the Website Audit Checklist for a full technical review beyond conversion
